About the Jaguar XE SV Project 8
The XE SV Project 8 launched in 2019 is the fastest saloon Jaguar has ever produced. The 5.0 litre supercharged V8 engine delivering 600 hp and a torque of 700 Nm is the most powerful engine ever placed in a Jaguar production car. The car’s maximum speed is 322 km/h and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. Shifting manually with the shift paddles of the eight-speed transmission takes just 0.2 seconds; that is faster than the blink of an eye. At first glance, the XE SV Project 8 has the same bodywork as the standard versions of the XE, but that is a false impression. Only the aluminium roof and the door panels are the same. The rest is new, the wider fenders, the sportier bumpers, the side skirts, the front splitter and the bonnet are made of carbon, which keeps the weight down to 1,795 kg. The track width was increased as well.
The headquarters of the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) are based in Warwickshire, England. This specialized production site is home to a team of 200 experts in the field of automotive technology. It has more than 40 workstations for production and technical work and its own world-class paint shop. Here, each Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is built entirely by hand. The total production of the XE SE Project 8 is 300 cars worldwide. This makes the car exclusive, attractive and already now a real collector’s item.
The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is the fastest four-door saloon on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The car completed the 20.6 km long lap of the circuit in a record time of just 7 minutes and 21.23 seconds and was therefore no less than 11 seconds faster than the previous record holder. With a top speed of 322 km/h and an acceleration of 3.7 seconds from 0-100 km/h the Project 8 is also the fastest accelerating Jaguar ever.
This Project 8 is a touring version with 4 seats. The modest looking low rear spoiler allows good rear view. This Project 8 is one of the 4 delivered new in The Netherlands. After delivery the car was registered in Belgium. The sales price includes VAT and BPM (BPM is a private motor vehicle tax in The Netherlands).
Connection to the road
All Wheel Drive ensures superb responsiveness, traction and agility. No other Jaguar feels so “alive”. In its handling it feels like a rear-wheel drive, like a two-door supercar. The Intelligent Driveline Dynamics includes an Electronic Active Differential as part of its advanced, computer-controlled tuning. The Adaptive Dynamics version which is uniquely tuned for the Project 8 has a new track mode for ultimate performance. The Project 8, being the world’s most thrilling sport saloon is fitted with an Eibach and Bilstein motor sport derived suspension. The mounts of the shock absorbers have ball joints for better response and the wheel bearings have been treated with silicon nitride as it is done in the Formula 1. The ride-height can be manually adjusted for the road and – 15 mm lower – for the track. The XE SV Project 8 is the first Jaguar featuring a track mode.
Brakes and wheels
The Project 8 has the largest and technologically most advanced brakes ever fitted to a Jaguar; large carbon discs with a diameter of 400 mm and huge 6-piston callipers at the front wheels which are saving 18 kg in weight.
The special forged lightweight 20’’ alloy wheels are stronger and lighter than conventional cast alloy wheels and ensure superior handling. Their unique design reduces drag by a factor of 7 and the specially developed Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres combine excellent grip with comfort, making them perfect for road and track.
The 5.0 litre supercharged V8 engine with 600 hp makes the Project 8 the most powerful car Jaguar has ever built for use on public roads. Each car is assembled by hand in the SVO Technical Centre in Warwickshire, Great Britain. Total production is limited to 300 cars worldwide.
The XE SV Project 8 has the fastest lap ever recorded for a Jaguar on the Nordschleife, faster than any four-door production saloon of any other brand and faster than many renowned supercars.
