“The silent strength of authority”
Unbelievable, the serenity on board of this particularly beautiful Daimler Double Six with its silent V12 engine. As Jaguar Daimler put it in their brochure ‘Passengers will find themselves in a stylish environment of luxurious seats, full air conditioning, electrically operated tinted windows and an abundance of other refinements increasing comfort, which protects them from the outside world’. When one drives the car this actually turns out to be true. In this special car everything has been designed to make its passengers as comfortable as possible. Even for the most modern cars the Daimler Double Six is a worthy competitor. Cars as comfortable and fine to drive as this one are hardly built anymore.
The special thing about this Daimler Double Six is that it is one of the last Series III cars, which were built until 1992 and featured the majestic 5.3 V12 engine. Another interesting thing is, that only the very last cars built in 1992 were available in the colour Morocco Red and that the car offered for sale by Brooks Classics happens to be one of the few Double Six finished in this colour. The paint job looks great and is in a good condition. The high quality of the materials used in the interior has ensured that after all the miles the car has done it still is in an excellent condition.
Despite a mileage of 237,457 km this Daimler Double Six, first registered in January 1993 in The Netherlands, is in an excellent condition. The car has always been well taken care of, which is apparent from the huge pile of maintenance bills that comes with the car. From 2005 on all invoices have been kept and are transparent. It is obvious that an aficionado, who did not want to save on maintenance, has owned this car.
Another nice detail is that the original first Dutch vehicle registration certificate has also been preserved and is of course available with the rest of the documentation. Since 2013 the car has not made many miles. After an extensive inspection by Van Laar Classic Cars in Tiel in March 2020 the car is now ready to hit the road again. The level of comfort and pleasure this Daimler offers will amaze its new owner.
